Police Constable Dave Hall, from Kirklees Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Around 4.30pm the victim was walking alone on Lockwood Road when she became aware of a male walking behind her.

“She continued her journey along Lockwood Road onto Victoria Road, heading in the direction of Swan Lane.

“As the victim approached the junction with Upper Mount Street the man overtook her and is then thought to have turned to face the victim before exposing himself and making a lewd comment.

“The victim crossed the road away and walked away. The suspect is thought to have left the area in the direction of Mount Street.”

The suspect was described as white, in his early twenties, approximately 5’3” tall, skinny build with blonde hair that was a crew-cut style but wasn’t shaven.

He was wearing a blue jacket, which was possibly a hoody, and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms. The victim believes he spoke with a local accent.

“I believe another man was walking in the area of Victoria Road around the time of the incident and may have seen the suspect without realising the circumstances that had just taken place.

“I would ask that man to contact police and I would also like to hear from anyone else who may have been in the Lockwood area yesterday afternoon and have any information that could assist the investigation,” added PC Hall.
