Armed robbery at Mirfield Co-op

TERRIFIED staff were taken into a shop back room and forced to hand over cash by masked men wielding hammers.

The two men, armed with claw hammers, went into the Co-op on Huddersfield Road on Monday at 9.45pm demanding money.

They took the four members of staff into the back of the store and stole cash from a safe before making off.

Nobody was injured.

The men were both white and about 5ft, wearing hooded tops and scarves

One was of large build with a chubby face, short blonde hair and blue-green eyes.

The second suspect was only described as being slightly taller than the first. Both were wearing hooded tops and scarves covering their faces.
