A NURSING home had bid farewell to one of its longest serving members of staff.
Sheila Gillibrand has retired after spending more than 20 years helping the elderly residents of Ashcroft Nursing Home, in Cleckheaton. She was treated to a surprise party on her final day, surrounded by her friends and co-workers.
Sheila, 60, said: “I’m sad to be leaving but there comes a point when you have to decide.
“I want to spend more time with my grandchildren and see my daughter who lives away.
“I have had so many good memories over the years and I’ve seen three different owners in my time. I’ve enjoyed my time and I’ll keep in touch with the staff and residents.”
The home’s manager Tina Shortall wished Sheila well and presented her with armfuls of gifts from grateful well wishers.She said: “She has been an absolute pleasure to work with.”
