Day one in the Big Brother house: a Liversedge businessman has provided the housemates with new beds!
Ashley Hainsworth, owner of bedkingdom.co.uk, landed a deal to get 12 of his company’s beds on the hit Channel 5 show.
After taking a phone call from the show’s production company, Endemol, in April, Ashley jumped at the chance to have his beds featured on one of Britain’s most iconic TV shows.
He said: “They called us out of the blue saying they wanted to buy 12 metal beds. We were over the moon when the production company contacted us. We weren’t expecting our beds to get on TV.”
Ashley, 26, set up the business from his family home in 2011 after studying for a degree in IT and Business Computing at Huddersfield University. The online business, based in Cornmill Lane and Forge Lane, is run by Ashley with his partner Rebecca Brown and mother Janet Hainsworth.
He added: “I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to give you a tip for this year’s winner though - we only watched the first episode so we could see the beds!”
He has seen his business go from strength-to-strength recently, as he has received interest from other TV production companies, but admits he has had a bit of a helping hand!
“When you search ‘metal beds’ in Google, Hainsworth Beds comes up,” he said. “So that certainly helps us out a bit!”
