YORKSHIRE Air Ambulance has issued a warning about bogus doorstep collectors.
The charity says it has received reports people are knocking on doors saying they were collecting on its behalf.
Director of fundraising, Paul Gowland, said: “The charity has received no notification from anyone informing us that they are legitimately raising funds on behalf of the YAA. We have never used this tactic to fundraise nor would we ever encourage fundraisers to collect money in this way.
“We are concerned that these people are not official YAA representatives or fundraisers and we strongly advise residents not to give out any of their personal details nor hand over any cash.”
He thanked supporters and the people who had reported the bogus collectors.
