BREAKING: Heckmondwike bus station plans revealed
Kirklees Council has today released images of the £650,000 ‘bus hub’ it wants to build on land in the town centre.
The plans will be discussed by the Cabinet on Tuesday.
If approved, the scheme, which has been in the pipeline for more than six years, will replace current bus stops around Heckmondwike Green.

Buses entering and leaving the site will have priority over traffic.
The council said space would be left for the ‘potential future provision’ of a local information centre, but would be usable in the meantime.
Kirklees Council leader Coun David Sheard said: “If the plans are approved a start on site by the summer is envisaged with work being completed by March 2015.
“The new development will not only provide a much improved transport facility in Heckmondwike centre, but will enhance the area as this site has been vacant for a number of years.”
