Bullseye for siblings on the road to the Olympics

It comes after Jessie finished as runner-up in the national version of the event last December.

Jessie, who lives in Scholes with her brother, said: “It’s nice to take the title in my last year as a junior and I’m now looking forward to next year competing as a senior. My junior score this year would have given me third in the senior ladies so things are looking good for the outdoor season.”

Jessie also won an event in Wakefield this year, when she competed as a senior and she finished as runner-up to 2012 Olympian Amy Oliver at Dearne Valley in February.

She is one 20 archers who are part of the Archery GB TASS transition group who aim to break in to the Great Britain squad.

Her younger brother Lewis has also won top awards for his straight-shooting. He picked up the YAA’s under 16 male recurve award, as well as 2015 age category indoor titles.

Lewis has been chosen to attend the English Archery Federation’s selection shoot, which will give him a chance to represent Team England at the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa this year.

The brother and sister pair hold 15 archery awards for Yorkshire between them.
