DJs turning the tables with 24-hour radio marathon

A team of radio DJs are staying up all night to beam out a 24 hour broadcast.

The team at Cleckheaton Online Radio are broadcasting a live show on March 8 and 9 to raise money to keep the self-funded station going.

They are also asking for donations of much-needed supplies, including office and studio equipment.

DJ Wayne Davidson said: “If we raise £200 before the night or get half the things on the wish list we will stay up for 24 hours. We’re doing the show in onesies!

“It’s going to be live streamed over the internet so people will be able to watch us live on air.

“We’ll have live shows throughout the night and bands and artists having interviews, as well as doing their own shows. There’s all sorts going on.”

Wayne said the station decided to do the show after thinking of different fundraising ideas.

He said: “We normally only do four hours a night so it will be hard to do, but all the presenters will be doing their shows.

“We’ll have live phone ins and competitions with clues on the live stream.

“It’s about having a good time and enjoying it, too.”
