A Spen band was busy over the remembrance weekend – clocking up more than 400 miles in the process!
The Spen Valley Scout and Guide Band boarded a coach to London at 3am on Saturday to take part in the Lord Mayor’s Show later that day.
But they managed to rub the sleep from their eyes to produce a rousing performnance in front of spectators as part of a parade of more than 7,000 participants.
The show went from Smithfield Market to Temple Place. They then passed in front of The Mansion House where they were met by the new Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Fiona Woolf.
After jumping back on the coach following the service, they arrived back in Cleckheaton at 8pm that evening, before another early start – playing remembrance services at Ossett and Bingley.
