A DRUG addict who jumped into a mum’s car and threatened her four-year-old daughter with a syringe has been jailed for 10 years.

Scott Brown, 33, got into the terrified woman’s car as she was waiting at a junction and held a syringe to her daughter’s face, telling her to ‘just drive’.

He had been released from prison a week earlier after serving a four year sentence for burglary when he got into the woman’s car on September 27 last year.

Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday Brown had meant to travel with a friend from his home in Blackpool to Huddersfield to pick up drugs - but was abandoned in Cleckheaton by his friend.

Earlier that day he had burgled a house in Cleckheaton and made off with cash, a sat nav and a mobile phone.

He admitted burglary, robbery and kidnap at an earlier hearing.

The court heard his victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has suffered panic attacks, anxiety and flashbacks following her ordeal.
