Members of a musical group have found the perfect way to tailor their productions to the stage in Batley Town Hall – they’ve built an exact sized replica in their rehearsal rooms at Redbrick Mill.
After the frustrations felt while coping with previous rehearsal places, members of Carlinghow Theatre Company can now make their musical numbers inch perfect.
The group is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year and will mark it by staging the popular musical Sweet Charity at the Batley Town Hall, from Wednesday September 17 to Saturday September 20.
Former chairman and honorary life member Sandra Chapman said the society, formed in 1924, has performed more than 100 shows over the years including plays, musicals and pantomimes.
She said the group is certain that Sweet Charity, which tells the story of a lovelorn New York dancehall hostess, played by Amanda Eyre, will be among the best.
Tickets cost £13 and £11 for concessions.
