Hide AdIt is managed by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, and is being funded through the Government’s Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) schemes.
Kirklees Council leader Coun David Sheard said: “We are delighted to be a partner in the Better Homes programme, which will help makes homes more energy efficient and improve quality of life for our residents.
“It will also help to create local jobs and training opportunities and reduce household carbon emissions.”
Organisers of the scheme hope that in the next three years it will deliver energy efficiency measures to more than 12,000 homes across the region.

Hide AdIt is also hoped the programme will create jobs and apprenticeships across the region.
The programme is expected to bring at least £20m of investment into the Leeds City Region and increase growth in the area as a result.
