A VICAR doubled up as a goalkeeper as part of a church Olympic celebration.
Competitors from Roberttown, Hartshead, Hightown and Scholes churches took part in the games, which included taking shots at the Rev Richard Burge.
He said: “The church warden and I ran round with the torch – but we had to have a rest half way through! We had egg and spoon races, hook-a-duck, sack races and toy pig racing.
“It was really good fun and we presented medals to all the winners. Hightown Church won the gold overall.
“At the closing ceremony we decided to do it again next year!”
