Classes revealed for Mirfield Show 2016

The schedule for this year's Mirfield Show has been released as preparations towards the event continue to gather pace.

The event takes place on Sunday, August 21 at the Mirfield Showground.

This year’s show will feature exciting new classes as well as the classics and registration for entries is now open on the Mirfield Show website, mirfieldshow.com.

Among the classes on offer this year is the return of the Mirfield Showstopper Bake.

This class is open to all those aspiring to follow in the footsteps of Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry from Great British Bake Off.

Also on offer will be the children’s races, which take place on show day, whilst a children’s craft day will be taking place a week before.

Other attractions include an expanded Baby Show, with three age categories, the Horse and Pony Show, the Fun Dog Show.

Keen gardeners can prepare for the Flower and Vegetable classes which have been part of the Mirfield show for over 50 years.

Closing this year’s Mirfield Show will be the tug of war.

Louise Hardy, head of competitions and classes, said: “We are really excited to reveal the competitions and classes for this year’s show.

“Online registration is now open and we encourage everyone to register their entries early to save time on show day. We’re hoping for a bumper year of entries.”
