Cleckheaton man injured in Bradford crash

An elderly man from Cleckheaton is in hospital with neck and chest injuries after a road accident in Bradford at the weekend.

The accident happened at 8.47pm on Sunday when a silver Vauxhall Astra travelling on the A657 Leeds Road in Thackley was in collision with a grey Toyota Auris travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Auris, an 82-year-old man from Cleckheaton, was taken to hospital and police say his condition today is stable.

The driver of the Astra was unhurt.

Police are appealing for witnesses, or who saw either car before the crash, to contact PC John Roberts at the Western Area Roads Policing Unity on 101.
