Cleckheaton rescue unit assist in helping man from hole

A Cleckheaton rescue team attended an incident in North Yorkshire on Friday after a worker became stuck in a hole.

The worker was stuck after a trench collapsed. Fire units from North Yorkshire attended and were joined by a specialist rescue unit from Cleckheaton.

A North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "The incident involves a trench which has collapsed trapping one person under clay and tarmac. Crews remain on the scene at this time due to the complex nature of the rescue and agencies are working to together to free the individual."

Rossett Lane Green was closed in both directions whilst units used machinery to remove the man. The rescue mission was complete soon afterwards

He was taken to hospital but no major injuries were sustained.
