Fun reached new levels in Cleckheaton on Saturday – as the town’s Christmas lights switch-on celebrations were arguably the best ever.
Stalls, music, entertainment and a Santa’s grotto were attended by thousands of people throughout the 12-hour extravaganza, with the man in red officially switching on the lights in Savoy Square. The evening was capped off with a fantastic firework display.
One of the organisers Viv Laycock said: “It was an amazing day.
“Everything was bang on time and we are so glad so many people came. Hopefully this will help put Cleckheaton back on the map!
“The looks on the children’s faces were priceless, and that’s what you do it for at the end of the day.”
