Do you have any good ideas for the name of a new street?

Kirklees Council is looking for suggestions for a new residential road on the former site of Roundhill Mill in Cliffe Lane, Gomersal.

A council spokesman said: “In the past, local street names could be descriptive, such as Mucky Lane or refer to roads to prominent local towns and cities.

“For this competition, names should not duplicate or closely resemble existing street names in the area.

“Streets are generally not named after persons who are living or who have lived in the recent past.

“Preference is often given to names with local connotations.”

Entries can be sent to streetnaming@kirklees.co.uk, phone 01484 221 560 or post to Building Control, Flint Street Depot, Flint Street, Fartown, Huddersfield, HD1 6LG.
