Heckmondwike parents given lockdown fine warning after gangs of teens seen hurling stones at windows

The Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing team has received several calls regarding ongoing issues in the Heights Lane/Lobley Street area of Heckmondwike.
Reports have consisted of groups of teenage males threatening and intimidating residents, damage, stones thrown at windows and various other issues.

Hide AdOfficers attended on one of the dates and detained three teenage males who await interview regarding some of these offences.
Local officers have arranged for regular patrols in the area to identify those responsible and deter any further issues.
A spokesperson for the NPT said: "We urge parents/guardians to be more aware of where their children are and what they are doing.
"We also want to take this opportunity to remind parents that we are still subject to lock down rules, and groups of children should not be hanging around on street corners.
"If caught doing so, parents are liable for their children's actions with regards to these rules and can receive fines as a result."
