A man has been arrested following a shooting in Leeds.

Police said they arrested a 29-year old man at an address in Woodhouse at 9am today (Saturday) following the shooting incident on Stainbeck Road, Meanwood.

The arrested man is in custody and enquiries are continuing after a 19-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg on Thursday.

The victim is still in hospital in a stable condition, police said.

Police patrols are being carried out in the area and anybody with information about the shooting is asked to call the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
