Men suffer serious injuries in Dewsbury gang attack as members flee from house in targeted robbery

Detectives in Kirklees are appealing for witnesses following a suspected targeted attack on two men in Dewsbury.

Police were called to a report of a robbery at an address in Bank View, Chickenley at about 8.06pm on Tuesday.

The incident occurred after a group of seven or eight men attended at the address and then forced their way inside after an occupant opened the door.

The suspects then assaulted the men inside and made demands before fleeing with property including a bicycle and a TV.

One of the men was described as tall, of possibly dual heritage and wearing a salmon coloured jumper.

The victims, two males in their twenties, were taken to hospital for further treatment to their injuries, which were serious but not life threatening.

Detective Inspector Andrew Lockwood of Kirklees CID, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of why this incident took place, and are currently treating it as a targeted attack on the individuals inside the house.

“We believe the suspects attended at the property in two vehicles and I would like to anyone who saw the men attend at the scene, flee it, or who has any information which could assist our enquiries.”
