Taxis handed suspensions and person arrested after Dewsbury police patrol stop

Two taxis have been handed immediate suspensions after the were stopped by Dewsbury police officers.

Officers from Dewsbury Neighbourhood Policing's Proactive Team conducted a successful multi agency operation along with colleagues from Taxi Licencing and DVSA.

During the morning, 20 vehicles were checked and seven taxis were issued with rectification notices.

One taxi was issued with a Traffic Offence Report for an illegal tyre that had so much wear that the wires were exposed

One non taxi issued with a notice to carry out repairs within seven days and book in for an MOT

One person was also arrested during the operation for a high risk domestic assault.
