TWO men have appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Ravensthorpe.

Mark Lennon and Michael Bowman are accused of attempted murder and various firearms offences.

The charges are linked to an incident in Clarkson Street at around 7.30pm on Sunday night when a gun was fired at a car.

A police spokeswoman said nobody had been injured.

The accused men, both from London, were brought before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Both are charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Lennon, 39, of Queenstown Road, London, is charged with two further offences of possessing a firearm.

Beaumont, 44, of no fixed abode, is also charged with possession of a firearm without a certificate and possession of a firearm.

The pair, who did not enter pleas, were remanded into custody and will appear at Leeds Crown Court next Wednesday.
