Updated: Man jailed for Andrew Feather manslaughter
A Huddersfield man has been jailed for five years and four months for the manslaughter of Halifax Rugby Union player Andrew Feather, who died at the Liquid nightclub.
Dale McLean, of Greenfield Avenue, Oakes, pleaded guilty to the unlawful killing charge at Bradford Crown Court as he was sentenced by Justice Henry Globe.
Mr Feather, a former student at Hipperholme Grammar School, had been out celebrating a match victory when he was punched once at the Halifax night spot on February 9.
The 38-year-old accountant, who had a young daughter, had worked at pharmaceutical supplies company Telstar Life Sciences UK Ltd, at Shaw Cross Business Park, Dewsbury, for seven months, and had quickly became a popular member of staff.
