Woman attacked by robbers wielding metal bar in her own home

Men armed with a metal bar attacked a woman in her own home and demanded money and gold.

Police have started a man-hunt after the robbery which happened in Victoria Avenue, Cleckheaton, on Tuesday December 17.

The terrifying assault happened around 6.50pm when the men broke into the home of the 28-year-old woman.

Det Con Gemma Smith of Huddersfield CID, who is investigating the robbery said: “The victim was pulled to the floor and struck on the back and head during the incident.

“When she screamed for help, the men ran from the house and down a path way into the local housing estate.

“The only item stolen was a mobile phone, however this was clearly an extremely upsetting experience. Thankfully the victim was not seriously injured.

“The men are described as white, around 18 years old, wearing black coats with their hoods up.

“I would ask that anyone with information or any witnesses to contact us immediately on the non emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
