Daffodil sellers wanted for Marie Curie appeal

Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal includes fundraising stalls in Birstall, Batley and Heckmondwike planned for late February and March.

Money raised at the community collections will go towards local nursing for the terminally ill.

The team will be at Tesco in Batley on February 16, Ikea in Birstall on March 12 and Morrisons in Heckmondwike on March 4, 5 and 6.

Anyone who can spare just an hour or so of their time is welcome to come and help out selling daffodil badges in exchange for a donation.

The aim is to raise over £200,000 across Yorkshire - enough to fund 10,000 hours of Marie Curie nursing care.

Volunteers will be provided with everything they need by local fundraisers such as Katie Grinter.

“We have collection dates booked, and would really appreciate help from local people in making sure we raise as much money as possible from these. You’ll be surprised by how much you can raise in just a couple of hours and every daffodil badge exchanged for a donation will help us to provide more nursing care to people terminally ill at home,” said Katie.

“We want to get as many people as possible wearing daffodils this March so if you think you are able to give just two hours to help collect at a venue near you in the coming months then please feel free to contact me.”
