Each year, visitors to the festival are encouraged to dance the day away to music and songs from the 1930s right through to the 1970s.

And this year, event organisers have teamed up with Creative Scene to offer a series of dance classes in the run up to the festival on Saturday, May 28.

Andrew Marsden of the Batley Business Association, which organises the annual event, said: “In the dance area, the music turns on, the dance floor fills up and everyone joins in.

“What we want to do this year is to give people the opportunity to learn some vintage moves before the day if they want to.

“They will be relaxed, fun sessions for anyone who wants to give the dances a go.”
