FLEET footed dancers celebrated their achievements during an end of year presentation night at the Centrestage Dance School.

The highest achieving youngsters scooped trophies for their hard work during the last year.

Centrestage principal Elaine Howarth said: “It’s been a fantastic year for all our students and they worked really hard during four months of exam work.”

One of the high achievers was Sophie Ainsworth, who was recognised for her tap skills, and who was also nominated for the prestigious International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) tap scholarship. Sophie will travel to Manchester next month to compete against other nominees for the chance to win funding for her dancing.

Elaine added: “It’s a brilliant achievement for Sophie to be recognised in the first place.

“We are all very proud of her, and all our dance students.

“We’re holding an open day tomorrow to enrol new students into the school for the 2012 term.”

The open day takes place at the school, in Woodroyd Mills, South Parade, Cleckheaton, tomorrow (Saturday) from 1.30pm-3.30pm.
