‘Dangermouse’ motorbike stolen in Heckmondwike

Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft, which is believed to have happened between Thursday October 2 and Sunday October 5. It is believed that the crime was committed by more than one person due to the effort required in lifting the vehicle.

The white and blue Yamaha YZF “Thundercat” motorbike was taken from a car park close to Independent House, where it had been left secured. It has the registration plate R649 KGP. Police are urging members of the public to be alert to the motorbike and hope that its distinctive features, including the ‘Dangermouse’ stickers, will lead to its recovery.

PC Lucy Ramsden from Spen & Batley NPT said: “After the motorbike’s locks were removed, we think it was dragged across the car park and loaded onto a vehicle because of the type of drag marks left on the ground.

“This high powered vehicle is very heavy for one person to lift on their own, so we think we could be dealing with more than one suspect in connection with this theft.
