Dewsbury beauty salon offers treatments for charity

CUSTOMERS were preened and pampered to raise money for charity.

Salma’s Hair and Beauty Academy held a beauty night to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Orphans in Need.

Visitors flocked to the Bradford Road salon and donated to the causes in exchange for beauty treatments including threading, waxing, mini-facials and nail art.

Alongside the pampering, the salon also offered dry hair cuts and ran a tombola with lots of beauty prizes.

While mums were pampered, the youngsters were also kept entertained with a bouncy castle.

Academy owner Salma Laher said she hopes to run another charity event at a bigger venue after the success of the beauty night.

She said: “We did really well, it was excellent. The turn-out was better than expected.

“The henna room was jam-packed and we had to call more therapists in!”
