Dewsbury Christmas Lights switch on - town to be lit up for festive season

The countdown to Christmas is underway and Dewsbury will be lit up for the festive season today.

There will be a full afternoon of fun in the town's Market Place from 4.15pm.

Radio presenter Jacqui Blay, of Pulse 1, will host the event which will also include live music, a funfair, fire display and a giant snow globe.

The lights will be switched on at 5.40pm.

Mirfield’s lights switch-on will take place on Sunday November 29, as part of a Christmas festival organised by the town council and My Mirfield.

As well as the big switch-on itself, there will be a festive food and craft fair with more than 30 stalls, on-stage entertainment, a funfair and a visit from Santa.

The funfair will start at noon, the craft fair at 2pm and the lights will be switched on at 6.30pm.
