Dewsbury rape accused appears in court

A 43-year-old man has appeared in court charged with raping a 15-year-old girl in a Dewsbury park.

Amadou Bojang, care of School Lane, Dewsbury, appeared before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday).

Police said the alleged sexual assault took place in Crow Nest Park on Friday evening. They carried out investigations at two sites in the park and nearby Carr Lane related to the case on Saturday morning.

In court, Vanessa Schofield, prosecuting, said the offence took place between September 4 and September 7 at Heckmodwike Road, Dewsbury Moor.

Bojang was remanded in custody. He will appear before Leeds Crown Court on September 24.

He also faces a charge of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 16, on the same victim, on the same date.
