Dewsbury shop robbed at knifepoint

Police have appealed for witnesses after a man robbed a convenience store at knifepoint.

The man entered Adams Convenience Store in Moor Lane, Dewsbury, and demanded money from the shopkeeper after approaching him with a knife at 11.20am yesterday (Tuesday).

He left calmly after taking £200 in cash and headed towards Heckmondwike Road.

He was described as white, aged about 40, 5ft 3in to 5ft 5in tall and of medium to stocky build.

He wore a light blue hooded top, with the hood up, and had a stubbly beard.

Det Con Andy Clayton, of Huddersfield CID, said: “This man threatened and intimidated the victim of this robbery and we are keen to trace his whereabouts as soon as possible. If anyone has any information about this incident or saw this man in the area at the time of the offence, please can they contact Huddersfield CID on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
