Cleckheaton Online Radio presenters Wayne Davidson and Adam Burnett have pledged that, if they get £400 worth of donations by 7pm today, they will take part in a 48-hour broadcast until Sunday evening.

“Everything is ready,” said station manager Wayne Davidson. “We are hoping this will raise money for the station to buy equipment, and keep things going for us.”

The station is no stranger to long-haul feats of broadcasting as, last year, presenters had a 24-hour broadcast lock-in, which raised £200 for the station.

But Wayne believes they can go one better, and are planning to stay awake for two solid days to help raise money to keep the station running.

He said: “I think tempers could be frayed by the end of it!

“But we are ready for it, all our food supplies are here and we are very excited.”

He even added that listeners can watch as the duo spin away on a webcam through the radio’s site.

“It is to prove that we are doing it!” he said. “Otherwise if we put a few songs on in a row and pop out for 20 minutes, people will assume we are having a nap.”

The broadcast will also feature live interviews, phone-ins, competitions and even live sets from local artists.
