E-fit and witness appeal after woman attacked with knife outside her home

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Earlsheaton.

The attack took place at around 5.50pm on Thursday July 19 in Frances Lane shortly after the victim returned home from work.

She was taking the wheeled bin from the front of her house when she spotted the man hiding in the bushes.

When she confronted him, he came up to her, grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against a wall. He then scratched her face with a knife before running away. He did not speak during the attack.

The victim was left with a minor facial injury.

The man police are looking for is white, in his 30s, skinny and around 5’10” tall. He had dark shaved hair and stubble and was wearing a red hooded top and a black waterproof, waist-length jacket. He wore a sovereign ring on one of his fingers.

As well as appealing for witnesses, police have released an e-fit in a further attempt to trace the man.
