The Royal Armouries, in Leeds, will host a medieval jousting tournament from April 3-April 6, which will conclude with an Easter Monday Melee and grand final.

With winter now behind us, families can head to the 1,700 tonnes of snow at Xscape’s Snozone, in Castleford, for a range of frosty sports.

Clues for the Oakwell hunt, which is free, will be hidden in throughout the park with entry forms available from the Countryside Centre play area.

If the weather is poor then the indoor hunt at Red House, in Gomersal, might be the place to go.

Entry to the museum is £2.50 per adult and £1 per child.

The Eureka! museum, in Halifax, is holding a Once Upon a Time event in which children can meet storytellers and characters from books from now until April 19.

There will also be holiday clubs for disabled children and their families from 10am-noon on Thursday during the holidays.

And there will be arts and crafts workshops aplenty at the Hepworth, Wakefield, with sculpture classes for children of all ages, creative toddler Tuesdays and a musical sculpture event, where children can make music inspired by the colours and shapes they find in the galleries.

The clubs, which are suitable for children aged three-11, are free but must be booked in advance.

And an Easter egg family trail will begin at the Greenwood Centre in Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury, on April 7 at 2pm, before returning to the centre for stories.
