What do you call a donkey chasing a carrot on a bicycle?
The answer is Lisa Wright and her son Matthew, who plan to raise money for charity in their rather unusual attire!
Lisa will be dressed as a donkey, and will chase Matthew – complete with carrot costume – as he rides around the route of the Liversedge Half Marathon on Sunday September 9, and they will be hoping to take donations along the way.
But the two will be on their own, as they have chosen a day when nobody else is competing!
Lisa said: “I was originally going to do the Great North Run on September 16, but I didn’t want to miss my daughter’s first day of university, so my son has kindly agreed to accompany me.
“It will be embarrasing at first, but I think we will have fun and it is all for a good cause!”
Lisa, who is raising money for Farplace Animal Rescue, is a veteran of marathons in London, New York and Snowdonia. She said the thought of helping people spurs her on.
Lisa has also arranged a ladies’ evening at Blend Cafe in Cleckheaton on Thursday August 16.
