Flower power at Red House

Gomersal’s Red House will be a blaze of colour next week when it hosts a flower festival.

The event on July 13-14 is being organised by the Friends of Red House, who want businesses to get involved.

They are being invited to contribute flower arrangements – whether shop bought or home made – which complement the theme which is the ‘Spirit of Gomersal.’

Information on the business can be added to the arrangement.

Contributors are asked to think creatively and craft arrangements are particularly welcome as fresh flowers and water will be restricted to certain rooms in Red House.

Cleckheaton Rotary Club will be creating their display and giving a talk about their organisation at the same time on Saturday July 13.

The following day will also feature live music with the vocal duo Due Voci and there will be refreshments available throughout the weekend.

Visitors to the flower festival will get the chance to vote on their favourite display and businesses will be invited to donate their arrangement to be raffled at the end of the day on the Sunday. Proceeds will go to the Friends of Red House.

There is no charge for businesses to take part and promote their organisation and there is still time to apply by contacting Jacqueline Ryder on 01924 565428 or email jacquelineryder99@yahoo.co.uk)
