PJ's Health and Fitness Club in Cartwright Street, Cleckheaton, wants to help make a difference to young people's health by rolling out its classes free of charge for the first week.

The initiative comes after university studies found that the nation is facing an obesity time bomb and that children of today could die at an earlier age than their parents.

Early intervention is key and children are encouraged to take up exercise, as well as a healthy diet, to counter obesity.

PJ's will be offering the following classes: Tuesdays, minis in motion for two to five-year- olds from 4pm-4.45pm; Wednesdays, fun fitness for ages five to 11 from 4.15pm-5pm; Thursdays, boxercise for seven to 12-year-olds, from 4.15pm-5pm; Fridays, combocise for 12 to 15-year-olds from 4.15pm-5pm; Sundays, teen circuit for 12 to 15-year-olds, from 2.15pm-3pm.

Places are limited and must be booked in advance. Call 01274 870076.
