Fundraisers boxing clever for Dewsbury leukaemia boy Harrison

A FUNDRAISER to help a little boy with leukaemia go on a dream trip to Disneyworld got a boost from a sporting hero this week.

Dewsbury boxing champion Gary Sykes called in to Child’s Play Nursery to present a pair of signed boxing gloves for its charity raffle tomorrow.

The day of fundraising kicks off with a charity football match at Crawshaw Street playing fields, Ravensthorpe, at 2pm.

The fun continues at the Bull’s Head in Huddersfield Road with a barbecue, bouncy castle, raffle, charity auction and lots more.

Fundraisers hope to send four-year-old Harrison Moore, who attends the nursery in Thornhill Road, to Florida’s Disneyworld resort and donate to cancer charity Candlelighters.

Harrison, of Leeds Road, Dewsbury, is facing years of gruelling treatment after being diagnosed with leukaemia two years ago.

Mum Louise Stenchion has been overwhelmed by the nursery’s efforts.

She said: “We believe he will be okay. But the fear is at the back of your mind all the time.”
