Fundraisers striking a chord at Legion Concert

SPENBOROUGH’S Royal British Legion is tuning up for its annual band concert.

The event has proved extremely popular in the past and organisers are hoping this year will be no exception.

It will take place at the town hall in Cleckheaton on Sunday October 14 starting at 7.30pm.

The concert will be performed by the Band of the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service under the direction of Lee Whitworth

The British Legion puts on the concert to launch the annual poppy appeal and it is also a way of saying thank you to the residents of Spen Valley who continue to give generously year after year to the appeal.

The concert is free, but those attending must have a ticket to gain entry.

Tickets are available from the information desk at the town hall from Monday October 8. A collection will be taken during the performance to help the work of the British Legion.

Anyone taking tickets who is then unable to attend, is asked to returned them so others can benefit.
