Have a go – if you think you are hungry enough!

Claire Batley, who runs the kitchen, is offering a free meal to the hungry customer who can finish the Newfoundland Dog in the fastest time throughout September.

Hide AdClaire, 32, has been based in the kitchen at The Plough in Shill Bank Lane for five weeks after turning her love of food from a hobby into a business.
“For one person to take this on is really quite brave,” said Claire. “It’s normally meant as a sharer dish for three of four people.”
The artery-busting meal crams in more than 1,500 calories.
“We’ve had a lot of lads from Mirfield wanting to give it a go,” Claire added. “And people have been signing up from Leeds and Huddersfield.”
Mum of two Claire, of Ravensthorpe, worked in catering and hospitality for 12 years before opening her own kitchen at The Plough.
