HECKMONDWIKE traders are backing a little girl’s campaign to spruce up the town.
Katy Campbell, eight, of Fisher Way, Heckmondwike, has called on owners of empty shops to do them up or knock them down to improve the look of the town.
Last week the Holy Spirit pupil said disused buildings spoilt the look of the town for business owners who cared for their shops.
Now traders are backing the campaign, saying something needs to be done about the buildings. But they stressed Heckmondwike has a lot to offer – and shoppers need to support the town and help it flourish.
