Hotting up for fire service party
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s fundraiser, on Saturday December 6, will begin with a three course meal at Zucchini’s before an evening of covers acts and an appearance by the service’s very own calendar boys, the Red Hot Dates.
The musical headliners will be covers acts of Michael Buble and the Blues Brothers.

Hide AdWatch manager and keen fundraiser Stuart Wilson said the money raised was vital to help firefighters that have sustain serious injuries.
“The Firefighters Charity is a self-sustaining charity for rest and recuperation for firefighters, fire service employees and their families. It costs more than £9m a year to run.
“We have a number of people who benefit from the charity, it’s all about improving quality of life. It focuses on rehebilitation from injury. It’s intense one to one care.
“We have a fireman injured on a charity cycle, who is currently receiving help from the group.”

Hide AdThe charity events put on by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have raised more than £150,000 over the years.
And West Yorkshire firefighters had been awarded a certificate of appreciation for raising £224,655 in the last financial year.
The brigade was ranked seventh out of the 54 fire services that cover England, Wales and Scotland for the most money raised.
This year’s bash will be the local group’s 21st anniversary. The do has spent the last four at the Frontier, after previous events at Leeds City Varities and St George’s Hall, Bradford.

Hide AdStuart said: “The Frontier is a great venue for that type of show. It’s a great party and we encourage local people to support it.”
The Firefighters Charity is the principle cause but other funds will go to separate local charities.
The night will also be the launch of the Red Hot Dates calendar, which will also be sold to raise money for charities.
The 2013 calender sold more than 4,600 copies and raised £17,000, which was divided between eight different charities.
