Inaugural auction raises a grand sum

Dewsbury Team Parish’s first ever grand auction raised more than £500.

Supporters of the four churches in the parish donated around 120 lots for the event, which took place at Dewsbury Minster on Friday.

Dewsbury Minster church warden Richard Middleton, who orgnaised the auction, said: “The auction was quite well supported and we sold the majority of the items. We had one or two larger items of furniture left over that will be donated to a good cause.”

Proceeds will go to the team parish, which includes the Minster, Trinity Church in Batley Carr, St John’s in Dewsbury Moor and St Peter’s in Earlsheaton. Mr Middleton is pictured with Gill Gaskin preparing for the auction. (D542A408)
