It’s a close shave for fundraiser Carol

Carol Davison has taken on some hair-raising challenges in the past, but none quite as close a shave as this!

The mother of four will have the smoothest top in Gomersal when she has her head shaved for charity this month – much to the dismay of her husband!

Carol, of Shirley Place, will use the shave to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

She said: “I try to do something for charity every year, and this year was no different.

“I thought long and hard about what charity I could raise money for, and thought that everyone, including myself, has had family members and friends with cancer, so I decided on cancer research.

Carol, who works at Morrisons in Heckmondwike, has previously done two Race for All events for Martin House Hospice.

She also took part in sponsored walks for the Heart Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in memory of family members.

She has received support from all her family and friends – but still had to convince her biggest critic!

She added: “Everyone I have told about it so far has got right behind me, apart from my husband – I keep having to reassure him that it will grow back in a few months!”

The event will take place on Sunday July 28 at Hightown Liberal Club.

The event will also include a raffle.
