Kirklees Council announced that 4,418 (83.1 per cent) of children bagged their first choice.

Four-hundred-and-seventy-five (8.9 per cent) and 151 (2.8 per cent) got places at their second and third choices respectively.

Overall, 94.8 per will head to one of the three schools stated as a preference on their application in September.

More than 5,000 children across the district have been allocated a place at one of their preferred schools.
