She might be just 10, but Gomersal’s Katie Proctor already has a CV most actors would be proud of.

Two years after starting Stage 84 in Bradford she has appeared in the recent BBC drama The Great Train Robbery – A Copper’s Tale alongside the actor Jim Broadbent, and toured with Opera North in its production of Benjamin Britten’s opera Peter Grimes.

And now Katie is taking to the stage to appear alongside Paul Michael Glaser, of the original Starsky and Hutch fame, in Fiddler on the Roof at the Alhambra in Bradford.

Her proud mum, Cath, said: “The last two years have been very busy. In her first year, she was lucky enough to land a role in a short film by the Northern Film School. In addition, she also spent a week filming an episode of the CBBC drama The Sparticle Mystery.

“Katie absolutely loves performing. She has had some fantastic experiences since joining Stage 84 and is very excited about her latest venture in which she plays Shprintze, who is one of Tevye’s young daughters.

“Tevye is played by Paul Michael Glaser, who was Starsky in the 1970s TV programme Starsky and Hutch, so it’s going to be really exciting for Katie.”

Fiddler on the Roof is at the Alhambra Theatre from February 25 to 29.
