Kirklees schools near top of the class
Two schools in north Kirklees have been named among the top in the north of England in the Times Good Schools Guide.
Both Heckmondwike Grammar School and Hopton Primary School have been named among the top 10 schools in the north for the state secondary and state primary categories respectively.
Heckmondwike Grammar finished seventh place in its category, with more than 60 percent of its students receiving three A*-B A-Levels and 64 percent receiving at least an A at GCSE.
Hopton came a 10th on the primary schools list, with 76 percent of kids getting a Level 5 at KS2 maths.
Each of the only schools were the only ones in Kirklees on their respective lists.
