The halls are already decked in Cleckheaton town centre, but local traders are not stopping there with this year’s Christmas celebrations.
After the unprecedented success of last month’s Christmas lights celebrations, traders’ group Totally Locally has announced a further two events in the run-up to the yuletide celebrations.
They hope to attract as many shoppers as possible to get their last-minute Christmas gifts in the town.
In addition to this Sunday’s Victorian Christmas Market, a Christmas Festival will take place in the centre of town on Saturday December 15.
The festival includes Santa Claus in his grotto in the Market Arcade, carol singers and street entertainment across the town centre.
Organiser Matthew Crowther said: “We want to create a fun family atmosphere around the town in the run-up to Christmas, and hopefully these events will help show people what the town is all about.
“We have been very busy this year, but it’s been worth it to help make the town ready for Christmas!”
Following the success of the last Cleckheaton farmers’ market, another will be held at 11am on Saturday December 22 in Bradford Road car park. Bargain hunters will also be catered for on Sunday December 23, with a number of shops open between 10 and 4pm for last minute shopping.
Matthew said everyone was looking forward to this Sunday’s Victorian Christmas Market.
He added: “The market stalls are all ready to go! We are going all out for Christmas in Cleckheaton this year and we have plenty ideas for things to come in the new year.”
